Her life-saving medication was Abilify. I know it's different for everyone but thought I'd at least pass that info along. On "whistling" and just writing - I feel that's one of the major points from "The Artist's Way". Our internal critics are the harshest. It's important to create just for the sake of creation. Get some help. See a doctor for the right meds. I have a very close relative who sounded exactly like you (mostly as Bipolar Disorder (with noticeable splashes of OCD, ADD and anxiety disorder for flavor)) but turned his life around completely. it can be done. i feel for you.
