Just as I’d feared, I got no writing at all done over the weekend, and I’m struggling to get back into a BHH frame of mind. It’s really just a matter of going back through my notes and digging in, but making myself do it is proving problematic.
Part of it is scheduling. I work swing shifts now, 1-10pm. Not being a morning person, my plan has been to sleep until 10am, get ready for work and then stay up and write or read or whatever after work until 2am or so. I tend to the nocturnal, so this should be easy.
Only it isn’t. I get up around 9-10 okay, but I’m wiped out and ready for bed by midnight. “The math doesn’t work…” It didn’t help that I got up at 6 this morning to see if the latest ROM kitchen had been posted to PPCgeeks for my Apache, and seeing that it had, got up to download it and cook a ROM.
So maybe it’s not scheduling, maybe it’s priorities. How do you make time to write?
