It’s official, there’s a new Treo in town. The 755p was announced today for Sprint at $279.99 with a new two year service agreement and a $100 mail-in rebate. Some of the features include:
- Internal antenna, slimmer form factor and mini-SD sot (up to 4GB SD card)
- Two colors - “Midnight Blue” and “Burgundy”
- Built-in Microsoft Direct Push Technology that delivers automatic updates to Outlook email as well as support for Global Address Lookup and IT policies like remote data wipe
This is a Palm OS device, not Windows Mobile (like the 750). In additon to the Exchange support it also sports Google Maps in ROM. Exchange support is provided by VersaMail 3.5.4, not Chatter, so don’t expect miracles. It’s also EVDO Rev 0, not Rev A. Documents To Go 8.0 is included (the retail version is up to 10.0 now, I think). The press release also mentions this:
Default data transfer mode, which allows users to be notified of incoming voice calls while using data services, rather than calls automatically going to voicemail.
Not sure what that means exactly, but it should be a welcome change to Treo 650 users who miss calls when the data services are active.
