Just as I thought that I was free of MMOs like Lord of the Rings Online when I was away from my PC…
Shadow of Legend is the world’s first High-Performance, Cross-Platform MMORPG (Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Game) targeting mobile devices. Players assume the roles of world heroes as they explore, adventure, and quest across a vast world. Shadow of Legend allows thousands of players to interact within the same world, some of them playing on PCs, while others playing on Smartphones and PDAs. Whether adventuring together or fighting against each other in epic battles, players will form friendships, forge alliances, and compete with enemies for power and glory.

This looks like the real deal, folks. You know, it’s funny. Josh and I talked about the possibility of using smartphones for MMOs for quite a while but never did anything with it. The bandwidth is certainly there, as I use EVDO on my desktop to play LOTRO and chat in TeamSpeak. With this, folks with Moto Qs and other smartphones (and landscape oriented Pocket PCs) can play away from the PC as well. The game is landscape-only, so it will be problematic on devices that don’t rotate to landscape.
