Please bear with me, the content is coming…

After last week’s big announcement and promise of daily content, so far we’ve seen… nada. And while I don’t consider these excuses, I do have some reasons for the silence.

I could blame my lack of productivity on drowning in 3GSM coverage, my sleep apnea sleep-deprived need to sleep about 12-14 hours a day, or scrambling to figure out how to get all the pieces in place now that JeffKirvin.net is my full time job.

But really, it gets down to the fact that I haven’t been an active blogger ffor several months and it’s taking me longer than I expected to get back into a rhythm. This is a one-person shop, and I’m still trying to find my footing.

Which brings me to my question. As I’ve been reading coverage of nifty new devices from 3GSM this week, I’ve been of two minds as to whether I should post on them. Specifically, with so many other sites, especially Pocket PC Thoughts and Engadget Mobile, being all over these, do people really need another person who’s not in Barcelona this week posting the same press releases and canned photos?

I guess what I’m asking is: what do you want to see here? I’m still trying to figure out what this site is and what it’s not, and I’m fairly sure it’s not Engadget Mobile. What made Writing On Your Palm different from other mobile tech sites was the depth it went into each item I covered, thoughtful reviews and insightful commentary. I didn’t post about everything, but what I did say was usually worth the time to read.

I’ve noticed that with most blogs I read I only have time to skim the abstracts most of the time. I get the gist of the article and move on to the next one. I don’t want people to do that with JeffKirvin.net. I want what I write here to be worth reading. The catch is figuring out how to do that and post often enough to bring people back to get those tasty, tasty ad impressions. After all, I gotta eat, too.

I am looking forward to the podcast. I enjoyed the 1src pcast for a long time, and still check in now and then, but, dude, I’ve been checking in on you every so often and it’s good to see your presence back on the web. You be a good writer, funny guy, and can think, unlike many of the technorati floating around out there with a blog and a keyboard. Keep on keeping on, and I’ll just click through a couple times a week.

    Different subject/ head snap reversal:
I’ve a buddy who has had the luxury of getting whatever he wanted as a palm person for years. Never used the capacity to actually do stuff, i.e. GTD. But he has also been a rabid Mac devotee since the early 80s. He’ll be switching to AT&T as soon as the iPhone hits the stores. Any thoughts on how it will fit into a corporate structure and/or influence Palm development? I mean, yeah it’s beautiful and all, but will it be the end all be all of phones?
