It takes 21 days to create a habit. So I figure, why not use NaNoWriMo as the opportunity to create a new writing habit. So instead of sleeping in until 7:30 or 8ish, as I often do (I work 9-6), I’ve decided to start getting up at 5:30 am (gads!) and shower, start a pot of coffee and be in my chair, dressed for work and ready to write by 6 am. This isn’t quite as drastic a change as it may seem because I’m riding the Daylight Savings change to make this an hour less of a shift than it would otherwise be.
So. I’m showered and dressed, hot coffee at the ready. I’ve got Windows Media Player playing a mix of my movie scores and I’ve got Sound Pilot activated and using the ICQ theme to give my keystrokes a crisp electric typewriter sound complete with a ding with each carriage return.
However, I can’t start writing my actual book yet. Not for two more days.
Agh!

Two days? Geez, write us a short story, Jeff. You’ve got plenty of time.
I have a much harder time with short stories than I do with novels, for some reason.
