Leaving my keyboard at home so I write more

This is a weird one. I’ve decided to stop carrying my Palm Universal IR Keyboard, even uninstalling the driver from my 6700. Why? So I’ll write more.

Lemme esplain. For some time now, I’ve been carrying the keyboard around in my back pocket so that when the opportunity arises, I can get some writing done. Between that, my dual screen XP setup at work and my dual screen XP/Vista setup at home, I can write absolutely anywhere. And that’s the problem.

The logic, twisted as it may be, goes like this. I can write anywhere. Therefore, I can always write later. Wherever I am, I don’t have to write there, because I can always write somewhere else. The result, at least for a world-class procrastinator like myself, is that I don’t write anywhere.

So I’m going to rachet up the urgency a bit by making it harder to write on the go (I still have the thumbboard if I have to go that route), but making it more imperative that I write when I’m at home, or on breaks at work.

Of course, if I’m not writing on the mobile device, do I need the 6700, or would a Moto Q suffice?
