My real weakness isn't podcasts though, it's blogs. I spend way too much time reading stuff online when I should and could be writing. For me it's not politics but technology, games and comics. I've avoided getting into podcasts about these things because at least I still think about writing while I'm in the car. Still I think there's room for balance, that is if you can keep one or the other thing from taking over (honestly I'm not very good at that part of it). I can definitly see where you’re coming from.
