Yowza! The Pepper Pad!

Pepper Pad 2 Specification - Pepper Computer

When I decide to upgrade from the Zodiac, this may be the way to go. Linux, SVGA screen, lotsa RAM, 20GB HD, and so much more. This is the most perfect tablet I’ve yet seen. Wow.

Seems rather large to replace my Zod. Plus running Linux it lacks game support to be found in Palm and Windows. I could see this as replacing a laptop, but unless they do something stupid with the Zodiac 3, I can’t see something like this replacing it.

Damn you. This trumps my link to the Cybook. I guess the market for this and the Cybook must diverge. If only I knew for sure that one can install eReader on Cybook, then I’d say that has a slight edge - from an e-book reader’s perspective - over this Pepper Pad.

Hey, you didn’t mention it costs $800! (You can order it for Jan 2005 delivery.)

Talking with Pepper, Linux users will be able to install applications on this device. So it will cater to people that only want to use the base applications and users that want to use it as a full function linux handheld PC.
